IconUtils consists of five different applications - ArtIcons Pro, ArtCursors, AhaView, Any to Icon and Icon to Any - that let you import and export icons and cursors, edit them, convert images to icons and the other way around, process images and do much more.
ArtIcons Pro is a powerful icon editor and icon library manager that supports new Windows XP icon format and allows you to edit and create icons with standard or custom sizes and supports color depth up to 32-bit True Color. ArtIcons features numerous graphic tools including popular enhanced gradient and chess fill options. ArtIcons also helps you manage your icon libraries, scan and extract icons from folders and files.
ArtCursors is a specialized tool for working with cursors. The main advantage of this program lies in the fact that it works with both static and animated cursors with color depth up to 16 million colors. ArtCursors features include a built-in editor and extractor, image-to-cursor converter, library manager and various paint tools, like enhanced gradient fills.
Any to Icon is a simple converter tool that lets you convert images to icons and break up icon libraries into individual icons. Basically, Any to Icon is a batch converter that works with BMP, JPEG, GIF,
PNG, WBMP, XPM, XBM, PSD and WMF images, allowing you to change color resolution and size to create customized icons.
Icon to Any is a "mirror image" of a previous program. It's a batch converter with wizard-like interface that converts Windows icons and cursors into images of various formats - BMP, JPG, PNG, GIF, ICO, CUR, WBMP, PSD, XPM, XBM and RC.
AhaView is a picture viewer and converter that supports all popular graphic formats, including JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, ICO, CUR, ANI, WBMP, XPM, XBM, PSD. You can browse images in thumbnail mode, view pictures full screen with zooming features, convert images to JPEG, PNG, BMP formats and manage your graphics files.
The new version of IconUtils features support for X Pixmap (XPM) and X Bitmap (XBM), WBMP formats, capability to create/edit smooth cursors in 32-bit color depth with 8-bit alpha-channel for Windows 2000/XP, and ability to export (import) multiple icons and cursors to (from) image strips in BMP and PNG formats.
It was an intentional decision not to merge these applications into a single program, as the experience has demonstrated that the resulting title inevitably becomes bulky, less convenient and users stubbornly prefer using the older versions that they are used to.
