 May 15, 2002 - AhaSoft's latest Icon Editor is specially designed for
easy creation of slick and trendy Windows XP icons. IconXP 1.10 allows
you to create smooth icons for Windows XP. In compliance with the new
icon format introduced by Windows XP (32bit color with 8 bit alpha
channel), IconXP enables you to create icons that contain a smooth edge
over any background.
Other visual effects that are popular and prominent with Windows XP
icons today include drop shadow, gradient, light source from a certain
angle, soft and slightly rounded edges, and a 3D outlook. Version 1.10
offers several new functions to make better use of opacity and
transparency, including the ability to capture transparency when moving
or copying images. You can use RGB lock mode, which allows you to
modify a pixel's transparency while keeping their color. Similarly,
IconXP's transparency lock mode lets you alter a pixel's color while
freezing its transparency.
Creating unique XP icons could be a daunting task without the right
tools. IconXP helps graphic designers and amateurs to create Windows XP
icons easily.
How Does IconXP Do It?
IconXP is fundamentally an icon editor. All of its functions are
designed specially to create icons, unlike other graphics applications

from scratch, or simply import multiple standard image files (BMP, JPEG,
etc.) and convert them into an icon format.

you can paint images with gradient and chess fills for dimension and a
rich outlook. You can save to disk, import/export icon images to
ICO, BMP, JPEG, CUR, PNG, ANI, GIF, WMF and Adobe Photoshop PSD files.
With all these built-in characteristics, both professional and amateur
graphic artists alike can create and edit icon images with perfect ease
and flexibility.
